this normal?

I got a 700-r4 in a '85 TA. The engine is a 305 TPI. The engine is a '89, i have no idea what year the tranny is. I had it rebuilt last May 2002. When i drive at part throttle it shifts 1-2 at 2500k-3200k, same thing with the 2-3 shift. The shifts are hard, enough to knock you in your seat. Under moderate accelerton it shifts at 2000-3000 but before it shifts it seems to rev slightly or"float" or somthing. Somewhat noticable cause the shifts are hard.

Now any of this normal. Is shifting under moderate throttle so it shifts at 3000k ok for the tranny or is it too much? At WOT it will chirp tires for the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. Is shifting at WOT throttle bad is I do it say maybe once or twice a month?

What is abusive to the tranny?

Thanks,

Matt
