TV cable adjustment

I just installed a crate engine (350 TPI) and a rebuilt 700R4. It doesnt shift in the right spots and i have been told i need to adjust my "kick-down" cable. I did a search and apparently it is called a Throttle Valve (TV) calbe? correct? I cant find any instructions on how to adjust this cable. I will be going on a long trip on tueday and need to get this adjusted as soon as possible. If somebody can point me into the right directoin it would be appreciated.
