Tach reading wrong or is it something else??
Ok I put in a 3.23 gear and put in the right speedo gears and my tach is way off, the speedo is right. When I am going 70 the tach says I am turning 3000 rpm and I have messed with the equations and it says I should only be turning 2130 rpm. At 3000 rpm I should be going 98 mph. Is there something wrong here or what???

After 200k miles your tach may be getting a bit out of whack. Mine started reading high at about 140k, and by 150k it quit working altogether. So I got an Autometer tach.
Can you get ahold of a hand-held tach? Or just any aftermarket tach that isn't currently IN a car? It's very easy to hook one up and check your stock tach to see if it's accurate or not.
Incidentally, I did some work out your way a while back, in Oxford. Small world eh?

First, just check the connection to the distributor. Its the little brown connector thats hanging down the side of the cap.
