The most important thing about acceleration is traction. With the trans go shift kit you should have some tire blazing shifts even with a 2.73 rearend and stock tpi unit. I know. That was my first kit for my car. For shift points, you have to know your cars HP and TQ curve to create the desired shifts. For STOCK 305 and 350 tpi I would shift the tranny manually at 5200rpm's when racing on the street or at the track "KEEP IN MIND I REALLY DON'T LIKE STREET RACE" save it for the track where its legal!!
If I were you I would see where the car really like to shift because every car is different.
NOTE: When racing always manual shift your tranny to prevent damage to the enterals of the tranny. By letting the tranny shift on its own, you are putting more stress on the 1-2, 3-4, and reverse clutch assemblies and line pressure is not staying consistant. And that's where the trannies fail.
