Need help deciding on a rear end

Hey guys..i picked up an 88 IROC project car that has no motor or tranny and the rear end is barely held in the thing. I'm building it up over the winter my planned combo is a built 350 with a mild roots blower and a TH400 or 350 tranny. Now before I do any of this I need to get a suitable rear end in the car. I know most of my options..ford 9" GM 12 bolt..a dana rear..I'm having a hard time deciding what i really need to safely run my planned combo on. What would you guys think would be my best bet as far as price, ease of install, and overall strength would be? I need something that can see 11's with slicks on the car and have somewhat of an easy install and not alot if any fabricating. Any ideas? I'm having a tough time deciding. Any and all help is much appreciated..

Thanks,
Jeff

Moser 12 bolt all the way. Undeniably the easiest install and ONE of the cheapest ways to stand up to over 500 horses and 500 FT/LBS.

P.S Didn't know there was such a thing as a "mild" blower )

FORD 9"...upside is PLENTY of available and upgradeable parts, More than strong enough for what your doing, Relatively low cost....WAYAYYYYYYYYY easier to set up and build.

The downside is that you lose some driveline efficiency over the 12 bolt..

As far as my install went I used a Moser housing which BOLT RIGHT IN... I used a 12" 4 piston wilwood brake kit..with optional DRUM emergency brake...

The emergency brake was the ONLY hard part of the install because I had to run new lines to make it work...which required basturdizing a LOKAR ford explorer e-brake setup..

I used the SPOHN torque arm which allowed me to easily bolt in my TH400 and ford 9" and I used SPOHN sway bar bracket mounts ....

All in all it was fairly easy...But thats relative based on your skill level.

When I say easier the Pumpkin with the gearing comes out of the 9" nicely...Makes it very nice for gear changes and setting up the rear...PLUS GM rears use c-clips to retain the axles which are a PITA while the Ford uses Retainer plates which are easy to quickly remove axles if necessary...

AND cost its about a wash between the 12 bolt versus 9" depending on how you get them set up..
