rear end swap - will the brakes work across years??

I have a 91 RS, which is now a 350 and a T56, but I still have 3.23 gears and non-posi drum brake rear. I found a rear for a great price, with posi, from an 87 IROC, which I'm going to have rebuilt with Richmond or some other 3.73 gears. The 87 axle also has drum brakes, so I was wondering if I am going to have any problems, or need to get creative with putting the 87 rear with the 87 drum brakes on my 91 car. Thanks in advance.
