Beefing up the 10-bolt-->Carrier Confusion
I may just beef up my 10-bolt instead of going 9-bolt. 4th gens do high 11's w/ 10-bolts and my goal is high 12's so I think I'll be fine. Anyway, the question:
I have an Open 3.08 Series 2 Carrier. Will the SLP Take Off Posi work? It says it's only for 3 Series though. Is there another Posi unit I could get for around the same price/strength for a Series 2 carrier?
SLP Posi - $100
Thnuder Racing "Complete Gear Package" - $400

TOTAL: $500
I need help deciding! Thanks

i just redid my 7.5 rear. Bought an Auburn posi from reider racing for $315 and a solid spacer to replace the crush sleeve for $15. Got a set of Moser 28 spline axles from fbody motorsports for $270 shipped. I welded up the axle tubes for added strength. Had everything installed by a professional with all new bearings and seals for $150. Should be good to about 400hp now. Oh and mine is a 2 series carrier also. I just upgraded to 28 spline axles when i ordered it.
I like 2 series carriers better than 3 series because they require alot thicker gear...thicker means stronger !!!
