Ok I have 89 Iroc with 2.77's I want to upgrade my gears. Where is a good place to buy gear for a good price? How much do set usually run i have a chanve to et 373 for 175 right now....

Also I hear 2 different stories. Do you have to buy a new posi unit for ever gear set for the 9 bolt?

I have heard yes and no's?

I don't believe you need a new posi unless your's has gone bad and is pulling one leggers, but I'm not sure there might be a difference in the series on the carriers.

175 bucks for a 3.73 9 bolt gear set is pretty good as long as it's in good condition. I bought my 3.73 gear set from Randy's ring and pinion for 190 bucks brand new (one ratio they stock).

Going from 2.77 to a 3.73 would require a new carrier I believe, series 3.

3.73 is pretty steep for a TPI if that's what your running. They usually like 3.42s a little better cause they can stay in the mid range where they make all there power.
