Need some ideas, weird clutch issue after trans swap!
Hey guys, I am having some issues on my car, and of course it has to be the few weeks that I am driving it daily.
My old T5 quit, and I swapped out to a good one. Easy enough, shifts nice, seems all is well. However, I drove it around alot yesterday, and it slips something awful. Mind you the clutch was replaced less than 10k miles ago, and never slipped at all with the last transmission. I could put it in 5th gear last week, slam the gas, and it would just bog along. Now, any pedal pressure and it slips 1k rpm at least, hit the gas and it will go to 5k+ slip hard and make a burning clutch smell. Anything I missed here? I really doubt that the clutch is worn out, there has to be something I am missing.
The other thing is, the pedal seems to need to come out alot further to engage, I checked the fluid res and it's full.
Need some help here folks, TIA!

Car: Depends on what day it is..
Engine: Um, Chevy small-block
Transmission: One that shifts
Axle/Gears: Got those too...
Assuming you did nothing else except unbolt the old tranny from the bellhousing and installed the new one, either your pressure plate crapped out, your clutch disc is shot, or you have oil on your flywheel face. Can not be much more than that.
