TH200C to T56
TH200C to T56
I am about to swap out the TH200C tranny in my 82 Z28 for a T56 from a 94 Camaro. My question is whether or not the driveshaft can be reused with the T56. I know that you can reuse the driveshaft if you have a 700-r4 but have heard nothing about the TH200C. Are the two tranny's the same length? I'm also concerned wether the crossmember available from SPOHN for the swap lines up with the holes in the frame for the old crossmember.
If anyone's run into these issues swapping out their 200c I'd love to hear about it.

The driveshaft is too long. You will need a driveshaft from a 700R-4, T-5, or T-56 car.
When ordering the spohn crossmember, choose the 1982 to 1983 model. You will also need a flywheel made for a 2 piece rear main seal. Centerforce part #700107 will work. That is a steel flywheel. Summit sells this piece. Part # CTF-700107.
For an aluminium flywheel Fidanza makes one. Their phone number is here. You want part # 198661.

Thnks for the info. I looked over the spohn website but could only find the one crossmember for the swap. I didn't find a specific 82-83 crossmember for the T56. Maybe I'm just missing it.
Anyways, if they don't make a specific crossmember for my car, does anyone else?
