700R4 probs...

I've been having some major shifting problems with my R4 since the 350 swap.

When we took it out after getting the 350 running it was slipping, fine, we lost some fluid during the swap, I put 3 quarts in and the dipstick read full and the tranny shifted fine.

A few days later it starts slamming into first gear out of park and slamming for the 1-2 shift. I adjusted the idle back down, that fixed the park to 1 slam, but 1-2 was still slamming.

The tranny is shifting late, real late. My tach still isn't hooked up...so Im not exactly sure what RPM the tranny is shifting, but it's riding out 1st gear to at least 2500RPMs before going to 2nd under the lightest load I can put. And when I say the 1-2 shift is slamming, I mean it's SLAMMING, like, throw you back in your seat slamming.

It shifted fine for almost a week, then out of nowhere started slamming. NOw the 2-3 shift is slamming as well, and it's not coming until 35MPH, my 3-4 shift is late at almost 50MPH, and the 1-2 shift isn't happening til almost 20MPH. Is it my tv cable?

What is odd is that it shifted perfectly for a week, then out of nowhere started slamming.

Typical TV cable adjustment problem, Hold the gas pedal to the floor, push the detent tab down and pull the cable towards the firewall as far as you can then relase the detent tab. Problems solved.

I had a problem with mine being out of adjustment, as it turns out the cable got streetched, and had to be replaced. As it turns out, you are supposed to disconnect the cable before you try to remove the tranny. Anyway something else to consider......
