If you want to retain the VSS speed sensor, just unbolt it and put it in the new transmission you are swapping in to the 90. It'll drop right in. You don't need to recalibrate either.
I just did a swap today, and thats all I had to do to get the VSS sensor into the new transmission. I think its like a 10mm bolt. Just unbolt it, pull it out gently, and install using the same procedure.

does the calibration for the gear ration have to be programed into the prom, or do i need to change the reluctor wheel, to get the right speedometer reading. Also what do the two wires on the transmission plug that goes into that vss go to, does that vss make up for the one that is usually in the speedometer of the dash cluster on older f bodys.
how do i determine what gears i use, isnt there colors on them, and can you mix a red gear with a grey gear? also were would i get these other than a tranny shop? the rear im using is a 3.23 posi with 16 inch iroc wheels and i would extimate the height of the tire as being around 24-26 inches
