Help for ailing tranny..band aids?

Ok,

My tranny has seen better days...I have had it flushed about 2 months ago, and the fluid is already a little burnt. I am pretty sure my TC is going too. Car takes a sec to "spin up", occasionally slippage, sometimes car feels like it lags with you get off the gas etc .

I am gonna get a new one in the spring, but anyone have any ideas to prolong its life till then? Does any of the so called tranny conditioners, band-aids etc. do any good? (Its not a daily driver, so I won't be driving it much except just to keep things going).

Two products come to mind that might band-aid thru the winter. Lucas makes a product called Trans Slip (?) not sure exact name and Lube Guard has a product in a red bottle/box. Have not used the Lucas but , used a bottle of Lube Guard in one of the cars when the valve body was sticking and had really soft shifts. Took care of both problems. The Lucas product may be more of what you are looking for as the Lube Guard product may have more friction reducing modifiers than you would want.

I tried the lucas stuff (white bottle). It did make a noticable difference...who knows maybe I can squeeze a little more life outta her.
