2600 stall too much?
This is what slp says about their 2400 stall.
Torque Converter, Lock-Up 1986-91 Vette/1985-94 Camaro/Firebird (2400)
These 298mm (11.73") diameter torque converters are designed to improve low speed (bottom end) performance while still retaining the lock-up features of the stock converter. By raising the stall speed to approximately 2400 RPM the engine is in its power band sooner. Zero to 60 and 1/4 mile performance times are reduced as much as 2 to 3 tenths. Driveability improves with little or no effect on fuel economy depending on your driving style.
Our converters feature fully brazed pump fins and high capacity Torrington thrust bearings for durability and are fully balanced. They are completely compatible with the TPI Computer in your car and require no modifications for installation. We recommend this converter for use with rear gears up to 3.73. With any high stall converter a transmission cooler is recommended.

I think a 2600 stall will be fine for your car. The street use should remain pretty much the same. It should help out your launch on the track provided you can hook.
