Well, I went to the track last week and made 1 run and blew up my 10 bolt on the 2nd run. It was a 4th gen rearend with GM 4.10s in it. I launched at about 3k with the nittos heated up and it couldn't take anymore. I got it hauled home, but I haven't torn it apart yet. I think its just the spider gears/carrier. I do have a local 9bolt with 3.45s that I can get for under $200. Would it be better to go that route for now until I can afford a 9" or 12bolt?? TIA!

well keep blowing 200-250 a pop for 10 bolts... or get a 12 or 9 for 2k and call it a day. your money.

For $200, I think you should buy the 9 bolt. -To tide you over until you get the 9" or 12 bolt.
I wish I could find a 9 bolt for 200.00. Lots of guys on the board have had really good luck with the 9 bolt and it is 1800 less than a 12 bolt or a 9 inch.

Thats what I keep hearing. If its a good 3.45 rear, I think I'm gonna get it. Possibly for $150 even...
I might be switching from my 6speed to a stalled auto too so I think that would work out nice. 355 w/ LT4 hotcam, built 700r4, 3000 vigilante, 3.45 9bolt and my welds/draglites.... I think I'd gain a lot of ET and 60' time

I've got 200,000kms on my 9 bolt - i'm convinced this thing is bullet proof. I had the bearings and pinion seal changed last year for $500 canadian and it feels and looks new..
