Tranny is really bad!!!... NEED HELP!!!!!!!

My tranny started acting up this morning. When it OD, forma dead stop, the car was like in neutral. 1st gear is not responsive at all in OD, only in D. Also, the shift from 1st to 2nd is very harsh, it takes long and makes a very bad noise doing it, dunn how to describe the noise, but it sounds like soemthign is wrong. With no other choice, I had to drive it home tonight about 8 miles in the city. It was getting worse and worse. By the end, the shift from 1st to 2nd took about 3 seconds to complete, and it felt like it was just going to break alltogether. I have the car sitting at home with no one touching, but I have to go back to school(about 200 miles away) with my father's truck. This is a very big inconvenience for EVERYONE in my family, not to mention my sanity. Does anyone have any clue what might be wrong?

Background info: Tranny was rebuilt by a custom shop a little less than a year ago. It is the stock 700R4 and was supposedly built to handle about 600-700HP. This is a very reputable shop, and it has performed well since then.

I put a new engine (350 HO Deluxe 330HP / 380 ft/lbs) two months ago. I have recently got it running very smoothly. Also put in a Hurst Dual Gate Shifter II (is properly installed, no problems engagin any gear at all).

I just had a custom driveshaft (steel) installed last weekend.

What could be the problem? HELP ME!!!

Less than a year ago you say?

Yeah, I would be wondering if there is any warranty left.
But based on what you describe (won't move in OD but will in D), it sounds like the foward sprag might be busted, which means the tranny has to come out to be fixed.

I called up the guy, he was very nice and immediatly remembered my car. He did give me a one year guarantee when I picked it up form him, which is still good. I am having the car towed to him (I am kinda far away at the moment) and he is going to check it out. Most likely this is covered by the warranty, hope it ain't too big of a problem. I NEED my car back next week or else I am going to get shot.
