Non-lockup converter ?

I have a 700r4 in my now carbed 93 caprice engine. No computer = no lockup.

I am looking into midwest converters. They have a 2500-3000 non-lockup stall for 290$. I have heard good things about these.

What are the downsides to not having lockup? I havent had lockup since I installed the new motor.

Also with 3.73 gears, a slp posi, spohn LCAs, spohn panhard rod, and the above mentioned stall how much off my 1/4 mile times you think Id see?

I havent ran it yet but traction is horrible. BTW im going from a stock 130k mile stall, and a stock 2.73 rearend without posi.

Im hoping to see a big increase from this.

you can get a lockup control for non computer controlled applications.
