Where to find missing part for 200C shifter assembly?
I thought I had all the parts to swap in a TH350 in my car, including a complete 200C shifter assembly from an 82.
The shifter assembly is missing the thingamajig "tang" parts that lock the shifter in various gears and keep it from slipping from say..Park into Reverse, etc.
I'm afraid I won't find another 200C shifter in the junkyards since they were only in thirdgens in 82.
Anybody know if other GM shifters will work? What kind of cars in the yards can I look for this shifter part? Perhaps cars that had TH350's stock? I'm so frustrated that I'm missing this one little part!!

I've still got my stock 82 shifter in a box... kinda dirty but I'm sure with some carb spray and greasing it up a bit again, it'll be fine. The button on the top though never worked and was disconnected when I got the car, is this what you're talking about what's missing?
Edit:
Just went and looked at it... it's in worse shape than I remembered LOL it's missing that same part I think your talking about.

Thanks for the offers guys.
rjmcgee, I tried to e-mail you but it bounced back.
I found a similar part in a mid 80's buick. It looks like a piece of metal in the shape of the letter J. I think I'll be able to modify it to work if I cut it to fit and find some new springs. I'll let you know if I need to take you up on your offer.
