Tranny Slips during lockup, and shifting
Its about that time. Just mildly curious about the lockup thing though..
If im in 4th or 3rd gear and the tranny is locked up (via my switch) and i step into the throttle any the rpms begin to "slip" up as if it wasnt locked up, but when i let off they jerk back down to "locked up" rpm. its most definetelly slipping, my TCC clutch is probably toast right? time for a new converter?
As for shifting, im driving it very very carefully now, when it shifts into third gear the rpms shoot up and slowly come back down into 3rd with barelly ANY throttle. third clutches toasty?
Now i beleive the 700R4 uses the same band for 3rd as it does for 2nd.. right? when its finnaly IN 3rd gear it no longer slips, i can step into it all day and it holds just fine. That means the BAND is ok right? am i off my rocker?

The 3-4 clutches are going away, common. Try adjusting the TV cable to see if this helps, check the fluid condition?, if burnt most likely the 3-4 clutches, and when this happens let off of the gas immediately. If this happens all the time, then your days are numbered as to when it will lose 3-4 altogether.
