Harsh, hesitant shifting...

My trans shifts very late and when i'm runnin it up slowly it shifts rather harshly, mostly from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. When i run it up really quick, though, it's still harsh but not as noticeable. What gives? Anyone....???

- New gaskets in between the valve body
- Cleaned out valve body very well
- Cleaned separator plate very well
- New servo piston spring
- Loosened throttle kick down linkage
- Took throttel kick down linkage OFF completely
- Replaced Governor

What the hell gives? I've checked EVERYTHING

Maybe if i flushed the trans real well that might help?

if it's a 700r4 from an 82-85 camaro, i know there have been several technical service bullitens from GM about harsh 1-2 shifts. something with the accumulator and spring.

the tranny in my iroc has a pretty firm 1-2 shift, it's the original tranny and i'm pretty sure it hasn't been messed with.

Have you checked the fluid level? Low fluid level will definitely cause this.

Have you checked the detent cable? Any throttle body work lately? It sounds like it might be out of adjustment.

Yeah fluid level has always been fine... and clean. And When i dropped the entire valve body i replaced the accumulator spring bc the original one in there was broken in pieces.
