Help X-mas tranny Problem

Not thirdgen related but still GM and I need quick help. I have a 1996 Blazer with a 4l60E. The tranny just started acting up. When I put it in drive or over drive at a stop I have nothing it just revs like in neutral. If the transmission is placed in first or secound gear it will jump in and go. If placed in first gear the tranny can be shifted into secound, third and fourth with firm shifts and no slipage in any gear. The tranny will up shift and down shift by its self after that with no delay or slipping . If the tranny is placed in secound from a start to take off it will go in but will take off in secound and then can be shifted to third and fourth and will work fine. If placed in third or fourth at a stop it will just sit and rev. Also if driving around the tranny shifts great but when I come to a stop it just sits like in neautral, I then have to shift to first or secound to get going again and then I will have third and fourth. Also untill this happened the tranny had a three secound delay going into gear when shifted from park only in 3rd or fourth position, 1,2 and reverse had no delay. Please Help. I need it fixed by x-mas.

i remember seeing something like a flowchart for the 4l60e's on some other website. i think it was irocz.com or something. anyhow, it tells you exactly what does what and you can pretty much figure out what's broke by what works under what circumstances. i'm sure someone on here knows where it's at.

You are accessing the intermediate/reverse boost valve when in manual low, second, or reverse, which adds about 80-100 psi at low throttle openings. This would account for it holding. It sounds like it is in the forward piston area, which is in the input drum. The only way to fix this is to go in the transmission.

i had similar problem with my jimmy. rebuilt trans from gm fixed it. there is a service bulltin about adding a ground wire or something, don't recall all the details now. 96 was the 1st year or a change year from what the gm told me so they were still sort of figuring out what worked and what didn't
