What stall converter?

I am installing a 383 stroker with a tunnel ram. I am going to use a 700R4 and have it built. What RPM stall would work best.
I will be weekend cruising with the occasional trip to the strip.
My goal is to have low 12's , then get it into the 11's!!! I want it equally streetable as trackable. It could turn into a track only car, but I'm not sure yet. Thanks, Ron

powerband, rear gearing? these things are necessary to figure out what stall you'd need

Unsure on Powerband.

I bought this motor already built (long story) I am working backwards to find out exactly what the cam specs, crank, and some other items are.

I currently have the stock rear end in there, since this is a just started project. The car is a 88 IROC w/ TPI 305 Auto. I don't know what the rear end ratios are?
What would the best gears be to go 11 to 12's in quarter?

I run 11.80's with 4.10 gears and a 26 inch tire...A 383 and a tunnel ram seems like a bad combo. Unless you are turning BIG RPM, ditch the Tunnel ram and go with a nice single plenum intake and get things tuned right. That will get you faster than anything else. As far as the converter goes.....You need to know where the power comes in and how much is there. Do yourself a favor and either dyno the motor or pull it appart and measure everything. Then you can give the coverter people some info to go on. Don't just start slapping it together or you will be VERY dissapointed. Good luck on the project.

BTW--I would go with a Coan converter.

ron, dyno your car the way it is now and you'll be able to figure out what gears and stall you need. at the moment there is no way to tell.
