700r4 rebuild
Hey to all, getting ready to rebuild a 700r4, I plan on going with a ProBuilt street/strip kit and having a relative who works for a trans. shop install it so I can save some labor
Currently I have what seems to be a highly abused slipping into all forward gears 700r4 with only 75,000 miles on it in my '92 RS with a swapped in tbi 350. I want to know if I should go to the boneyard and find a nice 700 for a rebuild or pull mine out and do the rebuild to it. The car is a daily driver so down time cannot be over a weekend or so. Also I want a nice firm shift at partial throttle and a chirper at WOT, will I achieve this with the ProBuilt street/strip kit and a good TC. Next step the rear end rebuild with a drum->disc conversion, heading to those boards now, thanks for your help guys and gals

thanks for the quick reply jmd, I am going to check around for a nice core to build up, if no luck then I guess I'll rebuild the original. After a ProBuilt rebuild how long will this 700r4 run with a 350-400 hp motor? My relative is quite familiar with these 700's due to the Chevy that runs through our blood
He agreed with fri-sun being good time, but he said maybe sat night, that would be sooo sweet, now only if this snow melts and we get 60 deg. weather ill be set
