LT1 Flywheel

Simple question, will a standard thirdgen clutch pressure plate bolt to an LT1 flywheel?

Not very likely, but you can use a normal 86-92 flywheel on a LT1

Well its the opposite situation, After some recent motor problems, a friend offered to sell me a L98 short block. My current motor is a pre 86 two piece RMS. He happens to have an LT1 flywheel since my current one won't bolt up to a 1 piece RMS. I just wasn't sure if my current clutch would bolt up to the LT1 flywheel or if I needed to find a normal 86-92 flywheel. Thanks.

Well, the clutch for the T-56 LT1 won't bolt to a T-5 flywheel; so I'd suspect the T-5 clutch won't bolt to a T-56 flywheel either.

The extra depth of the LT1 flywheel will keep this idea of T5 clutch on LT1 flywheel from working properly.

part of the reason for that is the hub of the disc is facing forward instead of back towards the tranny.

There is a pressure plate which is shallower in depth which would probably allow the T5 f-body disc, and LT1 wheel to work if the LT1 flywheel has the same bolt pattern as the T5 flywheel, but the PP pressure is not sufficient for a V8 f-body, and that's all I'm saying.
