TV Cable help

My cousin has a 4l60E automatic in his trans am and his transmission seems to slip in third gear, he has to let off the gas for a bit for it to catch it. How does one adjust the tv cable and could this be the cause of this? Thanks.

It sounds like the TV cable is not set correctly and is not opening the throttle valve enough for it to **** into higher gears.

Use this guide... it explains it better than I can: https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/detent.shtml

Kind of hard to adjust a TV cable that doesn't exist...

a 4l60e is electronically controlled

I was thinking the same thing...but someone beat me to it LOL.

Since it is computer controlled, the pressure is regulated from the ECM, and that is controlled by a TPS on his throttle body. You can adjust the TPS as you would a TV cable.

Have him loosen the TPS and move it one way or the other. If it moves right when you go to WOT, then move the TPS to the left just a bit. Not much...but enough so that the slipping goes away.
