Clutch Hydraulics

Im fitting a T56 to my 85 TA(in place of the 700R4)using a standard type clutch not a push type.
Although ive bought a bellhousing and the clutch hydraulics from a scrap car(via Spohn)I want to replace the master, slave and reservoir so that i can have all new.The GM dealer here in the UK says there are three different option codes for the 3rd gen.All i know is that the used prts that ive got are from a 1988 car but obviously i dont know exactly what option they are.
Can any of you help out here with what i need.
The pic shows what ive got now.
Thanks

now i bought a tranny and all the goodies out of an 84 z/28 and they look exatly the same. The only difference i could think of would be that of a performance option.
To tell you the truth i would go and order a setup from an Iroc or a 1LE/BC4 camaro so this way if there is a difference it is only for the better.
I hope this helps you out

Are you using the retrofit transmission which uses the T5 clutch setup? Just curious since I've worked on a few different push clutch / pull transmission options.

Skip the T5 hydrauilcs entirely and just order hyraulics for a 1995 Z28 with T56. I think they're cheaper, and they bolt right in, and work w/ the 84-92 V8 bellhousing.

There are at least 3 different hydraulic assemblies that I know of, that the GM books show for various ones of these cars. Let me share my experience with you.

As I was driving down the street one day, my line burst. I pulled into a church parking lot and left the car. Next day I went to the dealer to buy the whole assembly since mine was really old by then and had about 150,000 miles on it. Keep in mind I have a 83 car, with a 84 hydraulic bell housing in it, and the trans out of a 91. So I ask for the hydraulics for a 91. THey look it up, it's out of stock. So I ask them to look at other years, starting with 84. Nope, out of stock on that one too. So they look it up for a 87. Great, got that one on the shelf.

It is perfect. Works as good as one possibly could. Went right in no problems.

So, I don't think there's much difference among them; maybe a different bend in the line or something.

I also have a 91 bell housing, that I've compared at great length to the 84 one. I can find no difference.

Just buy what you can get, it will work.

Believe the fourth gen hydraulics don't have a bleeder, they need to be gravity bled =/ which I heard never works.

Pasky....you're right that they have no bleeder. To bleed the LT1 style hydros you just pull the slave loose and pump it in and out by hand for a few minutes. The air bubbles will rise into the fluid reservoir.

I'd go with the LT1 hydros, mainly because the steel pressure line won't melt if it gets next to the exhaust. I saw a T-5 car with a melted line once and it was a BIG mess. Brake fluid all over the bottom of the car...paint bubbled...not pretty.
