Quick question about gears

I found a guy selling 3.42 gears on ebay for a 3.08 or numerically lower carrier. Thats perfect for me because I have a 91 RS with 3.08 open.

The guy says they will fit all 82-92 10 bolt camaros. But my questin is about spleen count. Since newer 3rd gens were 28 spline and older ones were 26 spline. Are gears compatible with different spline counts?

In other words, will gears that work in a 28 spline rearend work in a 26 spline?

in my opinion...dont buy those...buy new gears..because they may already have a wear pattern from that vehicle...

26 and 28 spline are for the axles, has nothing to do with the gears, so yes the gears will work with either spline count.

They will work fine w/ the carrier that you already have so your only cost will be the gears, and the install. Like already stated, the axle spline #s have nothing to do w/ the gears.
