violent shaking at launch

violent shaking at launch

here it goes when i am out messing around in my car (5 speed)from a dead stop i try and floor it to get a good launch and all i get is a violent shake i mean bad too once i put the clutch back in it stops. what can this be and what might help me launch better with out the shake thanks

I don't really know what you are talking about . . . but if your talking about a really REALLY violent shake that makes it feel like that car is gonna rip in 2 . . . then you are experiencing Wheel Hop! My Camaro did it really bad, so bad that after once it put a crack in the roof, right above the passanger side door where the roof comes in. So I put lakewood control arms on, new lakewood 50/50 drag shock and a new polyurethance torque arm moutn and it's all good now. HARD launch atfer the control arms, they really help! I no longer roast the tires, they just hook and go .... Hope this helps!

My friends 95 grand am did that about 3 months ago... his slave cylinder was going out.... and was going out fast.. the shakin was unbearable soon it was to the point that it wouldn't move but just shake...

I'll second the shake due to stock trailing arms in the rear... Just to see what a difference it made, I kept the stock ones on when I first got the GTA running (wheel hop BAD), then I put my edelbrock trailing arms on, and it plants better (still burns out of course ) with no wheel hop...

Don't know if thats your problem, but it is common...
