the tq conver has had a history of locking up and not locking up, for most of the time it does not lock up, but last week its was locking up fine out of no where, now this week it stopped working now when it feels like its gona lock up i get a small vibration untill i acclerate more to get out of the 1500 rpm range and it goes away, it never did this b4. tranny was rebiult june of last year and it got a reboult converter, dont know what kind, did not know about trannys too much back then.

Sounds like electronically its trying to lock up but a pluged valve or passage wont let it.

 

update ! well im finding out that it only works a few times when the car is cold when its heats up then its seems to stop working, and the point where it does lock up i get a vibration. bad converter ?

or whats the relay or switch under by the brakes called ?

 

The brake switch would only cause it to not engage or not disengage. Your problem sounds different. If its temp related you might want to look towards the solenoid. Solenoids are notorious for working fine cold and failing hot.

 

where is the Solenoid located ?
