Rebuilding a 9-bolt
Are there any kits available to rebuild these? or all the individual parts needed from GM? I called Randy's Ring and Pinion and all they had for this was a whole posi unit at $1200.
Any replies are appreciated

If the rear is already apart you can take the numbers off the bearings and races and get replacements from NAPA or other parts stores. The make of the bearing isn't important. They use a universal numbering system. I highly recommend Timken bearings and races if possible.
I don't know a lot about the 9 bolts, but from what I hear parts are hard to get for these rears.

Thanks I am going to make a few calls...
Well heres what I found out so far, Precision, Randy's & GM do not have rebuild kits or individual parts so it looks like a whole posi unit is required. GM wanted $1500 and Randys $1200 looks like my best option is to get a junked 4th gen rear end.
