I was wondering if one of you could help me out. I've got a 12 bolt truck rear is this worth beefing up? I read that it has the same diameter pinion stem as the 7.5 and the car 12 bolt has the larger pinion. How much stronger is this than the 7.5. how much power can this handle stock? what about with new gears locker and other upgrades? it will be in a malibu if that helps you out any.

 

12 bolt from a truck is only good for whatever the price of scrap iron is. you can't buy any parts plus you'll need to relocate all the brackets and make some provision for the torque arm.
