Speedo Question

I am wondering on a 91 Camaro that came with a 3.23 rear end what Drive and Driven gears it came with? From what i am seeing it should of had a 17 Drive and 43 Driven. After checking on some others sites i see it could be a 18 Drive and 45 Driven. Incase it matters the Trans has been replaced with a dealer trans. I am trying to figure out what drive and driven gears i will need for a 3.42 rear gears now. I was seeing a 15 Drive and 40 Driven, but the local dealer does not have those anymore. I have also seen a 17 Drive and 45 Driven. If someone could help me clarify this i would appreciate it. I would like to just replace the Driven gear if at all possible.

Thanks

Step 1: Find out (by looking) what drive gear is in your trans now. Measure your rear tiresas accurately as possible, on level ground, from the center of the wheel to the ground. Average the 2 sides.

Step 2: Do a search on my userID and the phrase "SMUC", and work that out using your tire size and gear ratio. Your gear ratio is actually 41/12, or 3.416666667. Plug the drive gear tooth count that you found in your trans into the equation, and find what the correct tooth count for your driven gear would be.

Step 3: Go to the dealer and see if you can buy a gear with that many teeth.
