I did some searching and found out about the tremec TKO but it needs to be adapted to the thirdgens. I DON'T want a T-56 cause it will not bolt right on with ZERO modifications. I want a tranny that exactly replaces the T-5. I heard a rumor of a 6 speed that replaces a T-5 exactly but it is aftermarket. Can anyone shed any light on this matter? (TKO performance)

Well, since you have a WC casing, you could upgrade the T-5 you have. No adapters needed, and it increases the trannys power handling...

What needs to be changed? What's the weak link in the T-5 anyway? Gears?, shafts?

The G-Force is the simplest option.
The T56 is very nearly a bolt in. You certainly don't have to modify any hard parts. The trans bolts right up, as to the hydraulics, and flywheel. You can reuse the stock driveshaft and torque arm. You need a custom crossmember, but they are available and a direct bolt-in (www.skulte.com worked like a factory part). The shifter hole needs to be stretched about 1.5" rearward, and some wiring is needed, but that's it. Not that bad for a trans rated to 450 lbs/ft with a .050 6th gear.
