Well I had the shifter lying in the garage and my two year old thought it was playdo or something inside and got most of it out and on his fingers. What kind of grease is this? Thanks.

Well, its there more for lubrication and they had it caked with it, there is still some in there but would like to use the same type that was in there before, it was like a whitish clear.

I wouln't sweat getting the exact same stuff. I'd think a good synthetic chassis lube type grease would do fine in there, plus it wouldn't "melt" out. I got the same stuff on mine - it looks like a silcone grease, nothing magical.
