tailshaft swap!

I was wondering how hard it would be to swap tailshafts between a caprice and camaro 700R4 tranny and whats all involved while doing it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not sure why you'd need to swap the output shafts between those two trannies (they are the same) , but you'd have to take apart most of the transmission (removing valvebody and all rotating internals) to get it out... The extension housing (the torque arm in an f-body connects to a bracket attached to this) is easy to swap-- theres just four bolts attaching it to the main case...

I never said anything about taking the output shaft off. I was asking about the tailshaft not output shaft. I dont need to change that just the tailshafts because they are different.

Hmmmm... Tell me how a tailshaft is different than an output shaft?? Get your terminology straight. The extension housing hardly resembles a shaft in any way shape or form... Maybe tailshaft housing...

You DID ask about the output shaft... Next time proofread your post.
