I need to change my ring and pinion for this season's autocross, and I need some confirmation on what will fit. I have a 91 RS, I know it's a 10 bolt, is it the 7.5 inch? I"m leaning towards a 3.42 ratio...any suggestions? Top end and top speed are not important, just a sh*tload of pull in first-third gears. Stock L03, 700auto trans. Thanks

 

7.5/7.62 same thing. if all you care about is low end i'd go with 4:56. why are you running an auto trans in autocross? never done it but i thought manuals were the way to go.

 

I've had this car since 1991, and just decided to autocross last season with the local scca. It's a pain in the *** sometimes, but it's all I've got to use right now. There are 4th gen 6speed Z's out there, but I'm the only 3rd gen driver in my region. Other mods put me in ESP so I get smoked every time! Thought some low gears out back might help me out, also getting a new torque arm and aluminum radiator. Thanks for the advice.
