TV Cable question...
I just put ina new intake manifold but I am still using the tbi, I am having problems trying to get my tv cable hooked up. I have a 700r4 and I shift it manually do I need the tv cable hooked up? Will this cause damage and will it go through all the gears shifting it manually? Or should I just try my hardest to get it hooked up?

Well unless you have a full manual shift kit like me, then you need to hook it up. You will severlly mess up the tranny if not. If you do shift manually anyway, like I did, even with a stock tranny, I would suggest getting that setup. I was so unhappy of how the car shifted, too soon, too late. I kept messing with the TV cable trying to find a happy medium, but was never satisfied. Then my tranny guy suggested this setup. I am so amazed on how well my car performs. It was a night and day differance.

i was looking at the trans-go kit i believe that makes it a manual. Also with a manual kit will overdrive still work and not kickdown at WOT?

Whether you have 100% manual control of the shifting or not doesn't mean you can leave the TV cable disconnected.. The TV cable on a 700R4 is the only means that the transmission knows about an increase in torque input (and increases line pressure to compensate to prevent burning your clutches)... Hook it up or you'll have to rebuild it (and then end up hooking it up)..

I'll put it in plain english, and speak for my situation only thirdgen88. I DO NOT HAVE MY TV CABLE HOOKED UP, IT IS AT FULL LINE PRESSURE ALL THE TIME. YES I CAN STILL HAVE IT HOOKED UP, BUT IT DOES NOT DO ANYTHING SO WHY BOTHER? I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT FOR 2 YEARS AND IT WORKS LIKE A DREAM. There I feel better
. Anyway streetphase.com, there is no kick down with this setup, it will not even shift down unless you shift it down. If you roll up to a stop sign in D, it will stay in D, even if you take off, it will take off in what ever gear you leave it in. So ,if you have any doubts on whether or not if you would like this, I suggest you go to a semi manual like suggested earlier. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.
