LS1 rear $300 good price?

So I went pbr hunting today and the last yard i was at they said the only 89 & newer rear disc they had was a whole rear from 98 LS1 car. He said he just sold the engine/tranny for 4500. It has less than 20,000 miles on it. He said it would be complete w/brakes for 300. He usally sells brakes for $75 a side so he said i might as well buy the whole rear for 300. which im trying to decide. Any input apreciative.

I know this and being I just put a rear in my car I dont need the rear that bad i just want the brakes. And to have the fourth gen rear IN STOCK so to say. I've looked at TA creations and saw the ls1 rears for 200=shipping and misc parts. This would be easier i think to swap except for the parking brake deal.

Mame sure that the car that it came out of was either an M6 car or an auto with the 3.23 option. No point in getting one with the 2.73's. it is rare to find one but they are out there. If you are not sure check out the driveshaft. Auto LS1's with a steel driveshaft came with the lousy 2.73's. However if it is a 3.23 or 3.42 grab that up. That is a good price for the mileage. Might want to make an offer for the driveshaft while you are at it.
