t56 and skip shift
im doin the t56 swap into my 91 Z28 and was wondering if ill need the skip shift elim kit for it?? the engine is a 97 LT1. thanks

you dont techinally "need" to, you can muscle through the reverse lockout solenoid. But since youre running the LT1 and that engine harness and ECM, you might as well.

that didnt make any sence..... CAGS has nothing to do with the reverse lockout.
Tricked-Out-Toy :
if the engine is a LT1, and you hook it all up like stock, then you COULD get the "eliminator kit"
BUT
1. the "kit" is nothing mroe then a plug and a resistor on it. you could buy a $0.10 resistor. (pack of 10 is 99 cents at radio shack... and they're raping you at that price.)
stick the resistor in the CAGS plug and thats it.
2. you need to edit the ECM anyway because of VATS... so you could just disable CAGS there.
if you have a regular SBC, you dont even have a way to plug CAGS in so you dont have to worry about it.
athough with a non LT1 setup, you do have to figure out a way to run the reverse lockout.
