Bolting up Bellhousing

1 of the 6 bolts holding the T56 bellhousing to the block was really hard to get to, so I had to pry the socket in there. I got it tight, but it didn't reach 70 ft/lbs when it flew off and kinda twisted the head on the bolt. (the bolt is structurally fine, no worries about it breaking or anything) I am afraid that if I try to tighten it again, I may screw it up even more. Is the one bolt not quite up to torque going to be a problem?

most likely not, but i've never had a problem keeping a socket on the bolts. with the right tools you should be able to tighten it up. to tell the truth i use an impact and not a torque wrench to tighten them up with.

If it 's one of the top ones, reach down from above with a box-end wrench.

Those are 3/8"-16 bolts. There's no way they're supposed to be 70 ft-lbs. I'm surprised you haven't broken one off.

35-40 ft-lbs is plenty. That's the usuall amount for any 3/8"-16 hardware. If they needed 70 ft-lbs, they would have used larger hardware, for which a 70 ft-lb torque setting would be more appropriate.
