manual to auto

i have a 85 z28 that has a 350 crate engine in it with a holley 4
bbl. (came with tpi) all of the computer equip was removed before i bought it. it
came with an automatic but has been converted to a 5 speed
which is about to die. i will be getting a 383 stroker for it but im
going to upgrade drivetrain first. my ? is can i put a 700r4
raptor in it without having any comp. equip? also what else
would i need to get for the tranny to work?

the 700r4 isnt a computer controlled trans, except for the tcc lockup on the OD models, so you should be set

That is correct.

Unless the transmission is built specifically to eliminate the lock-up, you should have the lock-up functioning for cruise conditions.
