that looks like your emergency brake cable. That should go threw your floor board by your transmission cable.

nope, that is the cable that connects to the ignition lock cylinder on automatic cars, and prevents the shifter from being moved when the key is in the lock position, it also prevents the key from being removed unless the shifter is in park, just leave it disconnected it should be fine, just disconnect that cable from the shifter, make sure that u can insert and remove the key in the lock position, then tuck it up under the dash, id do it that way

Ok yeah thats what i thought, wasnt sure what everone else was doing, Im thinking of making it into a ANTI THEFT device, putting a end on the cable to where i can lock the ignition key and then hide it. I know this wont stop a professoinal theif but for newbies it will, besides i got a few tricks on the professional theifs , only way there going to steal my car is with a rollback and winch

wont stop anything.

they already bypass it when they goto start the car... the usual method for GMs is to bust the far left side of the steering column, and yank the lil gear out... at that point everything in the column works as if you turned the key.

a AMATEUR theif (the ones you have to worry about) can do it in about a min... or less.
