T-56 Parts List , Some Advice
I been calling around to the junkyards and I located two T-56 trannys however they dont have all the pieces listed in this list becuase the cars were crushed
. What they do have is this
95 z28 t-56 with 90,000 miles on it.... for $1200.00
94 z28 t-56 with 130,000 miles on it.... for $1100.00
These come with the bellhousing but they want a $100 bucks for the flywheel and $75 for the master cylinder
So here are my guestions per this list ?
T56 6 speed - OK
Fabricated Crossmember -OK
T56 Bellhousing -OK
T56 Shifter - I CAN BUY A SHORT THROW SHIFTER
T56 Flywheel for 1 Piece Rear Mainseal Crank - I THINK IM 2 PIECE SEAL L98 BLOCK ? ANYONE KNOW
or Centerforce 2 Piece Rear Mainseal Flywheel - CTF-700107
T56 Clutch Disc
T56 Clutch Pressure Plate - I WOULD HAVE TO BUY THIS
T56 Sealed Master/Slave Cylinder -MASTER OK, WOULD HAVE TO BUY SLAVE
T56 Tranny to Bellhousing Bolts - WOULD HAVE TO FIND
T56 Pressure Plate to Flywheel Bolts -WOULD HAVE TO FIND
Shifter Bolts (I reused the T5 shifter bolts) -WOULD HAVE TO FIND
Transmission Tunnel Heat Boot/Bellows (I reused the T5 boot) -WOULD HAVE TO FIND
Bellhousing to Engine Block Bolts (I reused the T5 bolts) -WOULD HAVE TO FIND
NOW MY GUESTION IS WITH ALL THE HAVE TO FIND PIECES, AND PIECES I DONT HAVE IS IT GOING TO BE HELL FINDING THESE OR ARE THERE AFTERMARKET OR STILL MADE GM PARTS TO BUY?
SO WOULD THIS BE A GOOD DEAL? THEN TRY TO FIND THE PARTS IM MISSING LATER. IT'S KINDA SLIM PICKINGS FOR TRANNYS

sounds to me like they are going to rape on the trans. i did my complete swap with the expensive centerforce flywheel for the 2 pc rear and the other things trans related in my sig for $100 more than what they are going to charge you just for the trans. so my answer would be to keep looking, it took me about 3 months to find one (on camaroz28.com), go to swap meets, try mortec.com they have them on there every now and then, but i would definatley not pay 1200 for a trans with 100k miles because by the time you track down all the crap you need its going to be alot more...
