TV Cable question

Hey guys, Im sending out my injectors next week. Anyway, in the tech article it says:

"Disconnect the throttle cable, transmission kickdown cable (or TV cable if you have a 700R4) and the cruise control slotted cable (here applicable) from the throttle body."

If I disconnect the tv cable, is this going to screw up my shift points?

Thanks!

No, any time you disconnect the TV cable from the throttle body for any reason, you must re-adjust the TV cable. This is a procedure right out of the service manual.

Ok, so I just got to re-adjust it after I put it back on correct?

Anyone have a link to a tech article? I know there is one on this site but the pics are for a v6. I remember seeing one where they showed you on a tpi engine.

Are you looking for how to adjust the cable?

To adjust it after you have re-connected it, push the button on the side in with a screwdriver. While pushing in on the button, pull the black cable towards the firewal and release the button. Next take and slowly open the throttle to the WOT position. You will hear a ratcheting sound, this is cable adjusting itself. Release the throttle and you are done adjusting it.

After pulling the cable back and releasing the button, do I let go of it? Then get in the car and slowly go to WOT?

Yes, and if you want to, you can operate the throttle by hand while you're standing there. I do.
