4th gen rear into a 3rd gen car

Thank you to those that responded to my question, I learned 3 new things that leads me to my next 2 questions.

I did not know that the 4th gen rear into a 3rd gen car has been covered so much. I tried for about 3 hours last night to find info. on this and discovered nothing at all. Where is a good forum or article on this topic?

Second I did not know, nor expect, that the rear in the 4th gens. was longer... that I don't mind so much, but I now understand that they also use a 7.5" rear? I was with the impression that the4th gen. cars use an 8.5" rear housing. Is this not true? Do some models use an 8.5" such as Z28's or SS's? additional info. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
