will an aluminum drive shaft from a 4th gen fit into a third gen?

yes.

no mods


straight bolt in.

all driveshafts from 84 to 02 interchange.


the exception being some 82 and 83 cars had diffrent transmissions that required a diffrent length shaft.

ok so i shouldnt have any problems with my 86 trans am i was wondering because every where i look for an aluminum drive shaft i can find one for a 4th gen alot cheaper then i can find for a third gen

I just put an aluminum LS1 driveshaft in my IROC. Straight swap.
