swaping out a th700r4 to a th400
i have a some quetions about this swap. i would be putting this on a 92 350 w/a 4 bolt main carbed setup puting out 300-350 horse range.
1. would it in the end be worth it to go from a 4sp to a 3sp
2. what special stuff would i need Ie adapters/brackets
3. is there any driveshaft mods necassary
4. is there any crossmember mods that need to be done
5. has anyone done this
6. what rear should i use
Thanks for any help guys

You would probably be better off getting a Pro-Built 700R4. If you still wanted to get rid of the 700R4, I'd go with a TH350 instead of a TH400. They're lighter, take less power to run and when properly built they can handle the power you're talking about. Spohn sells crossmember and torque arms for the conversions and you'll probably have to get a driveshaft made which shouldn't be too much. Really all comes down to what you're going to be doing with the car.
