10 bolt TQ spec?

10 bolt TQ spec?

i have a rear from a LT1 car that im putting in...

prob is, he undid one cap (passenger side one) so he could take the bolt out to slip the pin out.


whats the spec i should tighten the caps to??

whats the spec i should tighten the bolt that goes into the pin to?

this isnt the same rear, but i circled the bolts i need the specs for

The bearing caps get torqued to 60 ft-lbs and I recall a torque spec of either 27 or 35 inch-pounds for the cross pin bolt.

The cross pin spec is 10-12 ft-lbs.

60 ft-lbs is good on the caps.

If the caps are accidently swapped is there any possiblity of damage? I wasn't sure which was which when I put mine back togeather.

The caps have to go back in the same place because they are not always cut even. Look at the cut marks on the underside of the cap and on the housing, then match them up. Kind of like whitness marks, gotta look close though. The lock pin needs to be 25lb-ft according to Auburn. If you can't get a torque wrech in there then one good hit with a six point 8MM wrench should do the job.
