T56 slave cyl question.

does the below slave cyl pic look right to you? i mean, its kinda open, shouldnt there be a cover or somthing? and some kind of spacer between the slave cyl and the bellhousing?

am i missing a part, or does it really just sit like that?

i got this entire T56 setup off a donor car that was a theft recovery... one of the stranger items stolen was the clutch master/slave cyl assembly (and the shift ****)

so im not entirely positive thats right..... id expect there to atleast be a cover or somthing.... i donno.

Call your local dealer and get the part #, shouldn't be hard. Just tell them its the mount right next to the slave cylinder, and if their stupid like they are here, just go there and flip thier monitor around and point it out to them.

I need to get that spacer as well. When I bought my T56 setup, I thought I got everything, but when we put my tranny in my brothers car, he was asking about the spacer.
We just got a couple of old sockets and cut them down to size and put them there, but I do want to get the right peice when I put the tranny into my car.

I'll try and check with the dealer friday. If I can get the part number I'll post it. In the mean time is this spacer really necessary? if so how long should the temporary spacer be made? I would like to get this done tonight.
Thanks for the replys,
Kory

No, it's for locating the slave the proper distance from the fork. Clutch dust is everpresent inside the bell regardless.

no. its not. its possible to drive without it.

however, its not advised...... see how close the master cyl is to the bellhousing in my pic? its suppost to be a lil farther back.

you could make a spacer to work for a little while.... heh, if you were using nylock nuts and checked them often, you could even get by with no spacer.... but its best to just have the correctr part.

heh, you can even drive without a spacer if you have nyloc nuts (or you lock the nuts someother way)

i looked alll over the part dude... there is no part number cast or stamped into it.

someone is going to have to find a good dealership and point out the piece on the computer.
