Quick question
I tried posting this in the Transmission section, but no one would reply to me...
My TH700R4 automatic tranny is starting to show its age.
My car just rolled 150K miles and the tranny has been shifting harder. A friend of mine mentioned that I may need to replace the Transmission Modulator. I don't know alot about transmissions, so my question is...
Does my transmission have a transmission modulator? If not, is there anything I can do to help my tranny's shifting?
Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Tras modulaters are vacuum conrolled. Our cars use a throttle valve. It is controlled by vacuum. Hard shifting could be caused by a cable out of adjustment. What does the fluid look like?

As far as I know, the fluid looks normal.
I did drop the tranny pan (last summer) and changed the filter & fluid.

Hehe just look at my post and some things are a litlle out of place
trans modulater-vacuum controlled-mostly on older vehicles
throttle vavle-cable operated-what we have on our cars
The fluid shouldnt be black and it shouldnt smell burnt but if its thats new its probably alright. Tv cable is probably out of adjustment.
